STAP Fundamentals & MATLAB Simulations by Pileih Chen (Author)

The purpose of writing this book is to build up a foundation to make Space-Time Adaptive Processing (STAP) easy to understand and handle with ease using the MATLAB tool to manipulate the multi-dimensional signal-processing in space and time domains. Along with the space-time signal models on target, clutter, noise, and jammer, it is necessary to provide the STAP radar system architecture to illustrate the physics behind the theory. As such, the reader would understand why the STAP models are formulated and how they are connected to the radar hardware. Techniques of MATLAB simulation are advisable not only to handle the multi-dimensional STAP but also to investigate the performance tradeoffs under various target and interference scenarios. Besides the subjects on the STAP, this book also starts with the fundamentals of pulse-Doppler principles that are essential to the STAP as a whole. After finishing the STAP fundamentals, the reader is ready for many advanced subjects to make the STAP processing loads manageable and more efficient in practice.
