Whether you're a student, researcher, or engineer, the MathWorks AI Challenge provides a fantastic platform for showcasing your skills, tackling real-world problems, and competing for exciting prizes. If you're passionate about AI, this challenge is the perfect opportunity to demonstrate your capabilities, learn, and engage with the global AI community.

In this blog, we'll walk you through how to participate in the AI Challenge, the project details, prizes, and important rules to help you get started.

How to Participate in the MathWorks AI Challenge

Participation in the MathWorks AI Challenge is straightforward. Here’s how you can get involved:

1. Choose a Project from the Artificial Intelligence Technology Trends List

  • The AI Challenge features a curated list of exciting AI-related projects based on the latest technology trends. Head over to the challenge’s projects hub, where you’ll find a variety of topics to explore, each designed to push the boundaries of AI.
  • Whether you're interested in deep learning, computer vision, or reinforcement learning, you can pick a project that aligns with your interests and skills. This allows you to explore real-world AI applications and create solutions that can make an impact.

2. Sign Up for a Project

  • Once you’ve selected your project, you’ll need to complete the project sign-up form. This form is accessible from the project description page, which provides an overview of the project, guidelines, and submission details.
  • If you’ve already signed up for a project, no worries! You can still participate by submitting your solution within the given deadline (July 18, 2025).

3. Develop and Upload Your Solution

  • After signing up, it's time to develop your AI solution. You’ll be required to upload your final project solution to GitHub. Make sure your solution is complete, well-documented, and adheres to the project requirements.
  • Include a README.md file in your GitHub repository, explaining the solution, how to use it, and any important information. You’ll also need to include the necessary licenses for your code (either 2-clause BSD or MIT), as specified by the challenge rules.
  • Once your GitHub repository is ready, submit the link to it through the project submission form, which is also accessible from the project page. Don’t forget to check the box indicating that you agree to the terms and conditions of the challenge.

4. Submit Your Solution by July 18, 2025

  • The deadline for submitting your solution is July 18, 2025. Ensure that you have uploaded all necessary files to your GitHub repository and submitted the link before this date. Late submissions will not be accepted.
